Everything You Need To Know About NVR security system

Let’s first understand what an NVR is. A network video recorder popularly called NVR is a software program that enables recording surveillance video in a digital format to a disk drive, USB flash drive, memory card or other similar mass storage device. An NVR doesn’t have any dedicated video capturing hardware. However, the software uses a dedicated device, most often than not with an embedded operating system. Alternatively, in addition to help support increased functionality and serviceability, standard Windows operating systems and Linux are used with standard Intel processors and video management software. An NVR is typically deployed in an IP video surveillance system. NVR home security systems are generally wireless, they tend to be easy to set up, can be accessed through a web browser, and allow the user to be notified by email if an alarm is triggered.

Different types of NVR Security System

1.4 channel NVR Security System – This is an entry level Network Video Recorder for your home, retailer store or small office applications. It is compatible with many IP cameras, with no specific hardware or software required—you just need to plug NVR into your LAN-connected device (switch or router) with few clicks and it will search and configure each connected IP cameras, no more extra work needed. You can connect up to 4 IP cameras via the local area network or over the Internet simultaneously.

2. 8 channel NVR Security System – Similar to a 4 channel NVR, this system is compatible with 8 IP cameras. Again no specific hardware or software required, you simply plug your NVR into your LAN connected device and it will configure your each connected IP cameras.

3. 16 channel NVR Security System— For a big house or a big office space you will require more cameras and consequently a bigger NVR. 16 channel NVR works similarly as 4 channel and 8 channel NVR work. Though you might need a bigger storage device to keep recordings of 16 cameras intact.

How to install NVR Surveillance System

The NVR supports an external hard disk from the SATA interface. The built-in gateway helps in separating the network camera connection and the data network connection for the prevention of network congestion. Functional four digital inputs and one digital output interfaces are capable of integrating with the security sensors and alarms. This NVR ensures the best quality and highest performance in network video recording.

If you are using a network router / DHCP server in your system, you need to connect your Standalone NVR to your network on Ethernet Port1. Standalone NVR then tries to get IP address from router by DHCP. If your network does not assign any IP address automatically, then Ethernet Port 1 will use static IP address 192.168.0.10 after 30 seconds. On the back panel of your standalone NVR, the Ethernet port on the left is Ethernet Port1, on the right is Ethernet Port2. P2P network protocol has been added to approve more different network service companies. In most conditions, as long as you are connected to the internet, the strong network penetrating let you easily visit your NVR remotely after the initial QR-Code scan setup.
